Stewardship. What is it? Stewardship is an old word meaning managing the resources of another. As Christians we know that everything we have comes from the Lord. Commands to give back a tithe (10%) of what the Lord has given us go back to Old Testament times. (Leviticus 27:30) In the New Testament, giving is assumed to be a part of the Christian life. (Luke 11:42) Click here for an interesting read on stewardship.
But why do we give? Will God love us more if we give, and less if we do not? No way! God is crazy about us. Giving does not make Him love us more. Not giving does not make Him love us less. Giving does a few things:
1) Giving supports the work of the Lord in and through the local church. (Malachi 3:10)
2) Giving demonstrates that we know everything we have comes from God, and we are dependent on Him.
3) Giving makes us more like Him. God is the ultimate giver, and we can never out give Him. (John 3:16)
As you consider giving to the work at Ambassador Church, do it prayerfully and give as the Lord leads. Please keep in mind that the church pays a 3% processing fee on each online transaction, which affects the final amount transferred. Also, know that we do not accept credit cards, only debit/check cards linked to a bank account. We do not wish you to go into debt when giving to the Lord. Thank you for giving to the work of the Lord as a part of your monthly budget.
